QUESTION:
I am using PCS 7 / APACS+ OS Version 7.0. When I log onto the Operating System as an Administrator, WinCC Explorer works fine and I can open my project. However, when I am logged onto the Operating System as an Operator and I attempt to open my project in WinCC Explorer, I get the following error; "Open WinCC project. The user does not have the rights to perform this action! Please check the assignment of the current user of the user groups in Windows". Why can”t I open my project in WinCC Explorer when logged in as Operator?
ANSWER:
In order to be able to open a project in WinCC Explorer while logged on as Operator, the Operator User must be a member of the following Groups:
Power Users
SIMATIC HMI
SQLServer2005MSSQLUser$<COMPUTERNAME>$WINCC
If the Operator User is not a member of the SIMATIC HMI and SQLServer2005MSSQLUser$<COMPUTERNAME>$WINCC Groups, this error will occur.
